Mrs. Phyllis Diane Turner Scott, 76, of Mt. Juliet, TN formally of Bruceton, departed this life on Thursday, July 12, 2024 at the Providence Place in Mt. Juliet, with her grandchildren at her side. She was born on January 16, 1948, in Vale, TN to the late Buford Lindsey Smothers and the late Mary Christine Joyner. She was a retired payroll clerk of Paychex. She was preceded in death by her parents Buford Smothers and Mary Smothers ,a brother Darrel Smothers  also a son James Dean Turner. Diane was an avid gardener who was known for offering small bouquets of zinnas to people. She loved others and her family dearly. If it wasn't flowers, she was often busy writing cards to homebound friends or family for every holiday. A follower of Christ she was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Diane loved to laugh and would catch you off guard with her sense of humor and her life long passion for playing. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Elmer Scott, one granddaughter Lacy Christine Turner of Lebanon, TN. One grandson Dustin and Zoi Callahan of Mt. Juliet, TN. One brother Jerry and Joan Smothers of Gadsden, TN. And their children Joy Smothers and Jason Smothers, Dan Smothers, Kate Smothers.
